Accounting Assistant Job at American Freight Management Company
American Freight Furniture and Mattress has over 350 stores throughout the United States, and we are growing with 25-30 new stores opening each year! We work directly with manufacturers to ensure our customers receive quality products for a great price.
Our team is growing, and we are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our organization! The Accounting Assistant is responsible for preparing various weekly and monthly accounting journal entries, completing bank account reconciliations, working with stores and financing companies to ensure finance sales are properly funded, and will also serve as backup to other various Sales Audit responsibilities. This position reports to the Manager, Sales Audit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and post journal entries
- Follow up on noted variances between finance bank deposits and POS records
- Send Operations updates on finance funding status
- Complete various month-end close activities
- Serve as a backup to various Sales Audit roles
- Work closely with Sales Audit Manager on various accounting projects and tasks
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required
- 1-2 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance related role
- High intellectual, curiosity, and honesty
- Demonstrated attention to detail and dedication to accuracy
- Proactive approach; independently identifies and solves problems
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 general ledger experience preferred but not required
- Initiative-taker, ability to manage ambiguous tasks end to end with minimal guidance
