FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full Time position

Hourly Wage: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour (Annual Salary Equivalent = $52,000 to $62,400 per year)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned ~

  • Reviews invoices entered at the site level for accuracy
  • Processes invoices received at corporate office and integrates into workflow system
  • Processes checks and reports
  • Assists accounting staff, CFO and Controller with special requests for information

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with accounting software systems. YARDI experience required
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to the provision of long-term affordable housing and to the concept of organizing low-income people to stabilize communities and create social change. Commitment to green-building and sustainable policies and practices
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work in a team environment including multicultural settings

Education/ Experience:

Associate of Arts (A.A.) in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning plus 2 years of accounts payable experience in a high volume environment, or equivalent experience and/or training, preferably with a non-profit organization.


Accountability:

Under the supervision of the Controller, perform all duties in a detailed oriented, verifiable manner. Take responsibility to complete tasks assigned in a complete and timely manner. Exercise independent judgment in concert with assignments. Perform all duties to the highest ethical and accounting standards.


Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
