Freebirds World Burrito is a fast-growing burrito chain headquartered in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Accountant to join our rapidly evolving organization. This role includes weekly and monthly duties, which including reconciliation, journal entries, and reporting. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and relentlessness. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

We run on an EOS, where everyone is working towards the same goals. All positions focus on key quarterly objectives and accountabilities. The main accountabilities for this job are

1. Managing recurring credit card expense coding and reconciliations

2. Auditing daily account receivable reconciliations

3. Supporting a Best in Class period close process with accurate final financials

The single most impactful metric this position will impact is driving interaction and understanding of financials with the operations team.

Responsibilities

· Analyze multiunit P&L statements to find and correct discrepancies

· Prepare journal entries, review balance sheet account reconciliations, and make adjustment recommendations when necessary

· Perform general accounting functions to ensure an effective and efficient period-end closing process

· Support and oversee outsourced accounting functions including AP, AR, FA, and financial reporting

· Prepare and review materials to support periodic, quarterly, and annual reporting including external audits

· Review related account reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies

· Serve as a subject matter expert to business partners and cross-functional teams on operational accounting, including support systems

· Run external review and audit process to ensure annual report is received timely

· Follow proper accounting methods and policies

· Ensuring compliance with state and federal tax reporting

· Multi-level communication throughout the organization; verbally and written

· Assist with other projects as assigned

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting

· 2-4 years of accounting experience

· Experience working within a multiunit restaurant or hospitality concept, preferred

· Excellent analytical and technical skills with attention to detail

· Ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing and organizing tasks

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel

· Infosync and Ultipro experience, preferred
