REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor/Executive Director of Business Operations

Salary/Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $21.06.
  • This is a 52-week position which offers Board paid health benefits; sick, personal and vacation time upon successful completion of a 30 day worked probationary period.

Qualifications:
  • Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements.
  • Successful drug test.
  • Successful physical.
  • Successful BCII & FBI background checks.


Summary of Essential Job Duties:
  • Directly responsible to the Transportation Expeditor.
  • Responsible for the safe transportation of pupils to and from school
  • Submit reports as required; gas consumption, mileage, number of pupils transported, etc.
  • Be familiar with the State of Ohio regulations and rules concerning the safe operation of the bus.
  • Attend safety meetings as directed.
  • Assist in the formulation of bus routes and submit bus schedule with pupils’ names as directed.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the bus and proper functioning of safety equipment such as windshield wipers, turn signals, etc.
  • Park vehicle in designated area.
  • Maintain daily driving schedule as set up.
  • Maintain orderly conduct of pupils at all times. Report misbehavior of pupils and follow corrective action as directed.
  • Report all accidents to proper civil authorities and school officials immediately.
  • Perform any other bus related duties as directed by the Transportation Expeditor.
  • Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School District Board of Education.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Business Operations, or his/her designee.

Employment upon completion of all Warren City Schools pre-employment requirements.

Upon successful completion of probationary period, and meeting all State of Ohio CDL requirements and established pre-employment and other employment requirements established by the Warren City School District, a contracted employee has the option for medical benefits, earned paid sick, personal and vacation time, as established by IUOE Local 95 union contract.
