PetVets Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are an AAHA certified, progressive and integrative small animal practice located minutes from Chicago in historic Oak Park, IL. Our practice’s primary goal is to provide patient centered quality care while enhancing the pet-owner bond. We also believe in and provide a strong employee-focused culture.

Our ideal veterinary assistant will be experienced and team-oriented with a strong work ethic to practice in a family friendly environment with emphasis on communication, service, collaboration and relationship building. Our patients receive state of the art care including digital radiology, ultrasound, surgical CO2 laser, class IV therapeutic laser, thermal imaging, acupuncture and a physical rehabilitation center with hydrotherapy. This is a full time position and our veterinary assistants work five days a week. Your schedule will be a combination of morning and afternoon shifts (8am-4pm;11am-7pm) and rotate to include alternate days off when working every other Saturday 9am-3pm . Our veterinary assistants perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to:

• restraining pets for exams, testing & treatments
• giving vaccinations
• performing nail trims, ear cleanings, & gland expression
• entering visit charges into the system
• preparing various paperwork for technicians, veterinarians, and clients
• preparing prescriptions
• cleaning exam rooms and work areas
• performing blood draws

Only those with previous veterinary hospital assistant experience will be considered.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
