Part time position 25-29 hours a week with availability 2:30 pm-7:00 pm Monday through Friday

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided in within a specific program area, such as Education, ESL, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. Build relationships, act as mentors, and model good decision making and social skills. Ensure inclusion and safety for all members.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
• Promote and stimulate program participation.
• Register new members and participate in their club orientation process.
• Participate as an active positive team member with supervisor, staff, volunteers, and members.
• Actively engaged with students in core area programs.

Program Development and Implementation

• Effectively plan and implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
• Prevention – Smart Moves, Passport to Manhood, and Smart Girls.
• Physical Education – Triple Play, Healthy Habits, and two health classes per week.
• Arts – drama, music, and fine arts.
• Education – STRIDE, STEM, Intervention, and Career Development.
• Social Rec. – Character Education & Development, Games, Sportsmanship, Fair Play, Honesty.
• Write/ Implement weekly lesson plans.

Supervision

• Participates in unit staff meetings. Communicates effectively, maintain a safe environment for members both physically and emotionally.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May participate in special programs and/or events.
• May be required to drive Club van.
• Participates in continuing education. (Webinars, Workshops, Conferences)
• Assume other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External:Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
