Weekend Tour Leader

Synopsis:
Do you love meeting people from all around the world? Are you friendly, enthusiastic, and fun? If so, you might be the perfect fit to showcase Tarry Town, NY as our Tour Leader for EF International Language Centers.

At EF New York we have students from all over the world looking to learn English, explore New York and tour the mid-Atlantic region. Every month we produce a calendar of Activities and events to optimize their experience here in New York. We have daily activities planned on and off campus as well as weekend trips to Washington D.C., Philadelphia and Boston. We are looking for motivated individuals who enjoy traveling and culture to assist in making these experiences memorable for our students.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Make sure all students are accounted for and loaded onto the bus in a timely manner.
• Execute a travel itinerary and make the destination and landmarks come alive for your group
• Manage logistics and safety while providing a local, cultural, and historical narrative
• Provide educational commentary throughout the duration of the tour (on the bus, at the sites, and during free time)
• Give your student traveler group a once-in-a-lifetime educational travel experience
• Safely check your students into hotel and carefully go over hotel rules, curfew and schedule for following day

The successful candidate must:

• Be able to meet and lead tours departing from Tarrytown, NY
• Exhibit initiative and understanding in handling customer service issues
• Be efficient and prepared at all times - Anticipate issues and resolve them before they can affect the customer experience
• Display a highly sociable personality and interact with students throughout each tour to cultivate positive relationships
• Dress and conduct oneself professionally at all times
• Be able to accept a schedule that includes both one-day trips and multi-day tours
• Be patient as English is the second language for all of our students

Tour Leaders represent EF New York and must demonstrate excellent customer service skills as these students are our clients. The applicant should be efficient and prepared at all times. The Tour Leader is a part-time position. This position may lead to other opportunities to chaperone events.
