Position Summary:

Working under the direction of the EMR Applications Manager, the Web Applications Developer creates, maintains, and offers support for a wide variety of custom business applications for Lakeland Care. The Web Applications Developer primarily utilizes SQL Server to store and extract data and Apache NiFi to transfer data.

  • Design, develop, implement, support, and maintain existing data flows based on business requirements, using approved technologies and coding standards.
  • Write clean, scalable code using varying programming languages including but not limited to Apache NiFi and modern JS frameworks.
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.

  • Test and deploy applications and systems.
  • Utilize APIs to extract data from external systems and to save data to these external systems

  • Document code appropriately for maintainability. Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information and protected health information as required by State and Federal regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act of 1996.
  • Participate in external workgroups and meetings as needed to support organizational goals.

Work Relationships and Scope:

Work under the general direction of the EMR Applications Manager who is available for direction and/or prioritization of other related areas of responsibility; there is no supervisory responsibility. Decision making is generally limited to the areas of responsibility and will often be made after conferring with the Sr. Web Applications Developer or EMR Applications Manager. Considerable interaction with all Lakeland Care Inc. employees, other system users, and vendors.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience including working with Microsoft SQL server databases.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi and modern JS frameworks preferred.
  • Understanding of object-oriented and relational database design.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state and federal guidelines on privacy, transactions, and security.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed largely remote and/ in an office environment, with minimal chance for personal injury. This position responds to various operational, community, customer or employee situations and fulfills multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours; however, evening and weekend work may occasionally be necessary to meet the needs of the organization. Frequent travel between offices and occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
