What’s the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking an experienced water resources engineer to help expand our water resources engineering practice in the Pacific Northwest. We are particularly interested in an individual who has a strong technical background coupled with proven project management, client management, and business development experience. The ideal candidate would be able to develop new water resources engineering project opportunities, delegate and manage technical work, perform technical work, including technical studies and engineering design work, and independently manage projects from planning through design and construction. The ideal candidate would bring new clients and opportunities to Anchor QEA and would help our water resources engineering team manage and develop projects for existing clients, with the goal of growing our water resources engineering practice.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Independently manage a wide range of water resources engineering projects from planning through design and construction.
- Perform and/or oversee technical analyses for water resources management, water supply, water conveyance, water storage, habitat restoration, and stormwater management projects.
- Oversee the preparation of written reports and technical studies.
- Manage the development of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and opinions of probable cost.
- Manage the successful completion of projects for our existing clients.
- Work with other senior water resources staff to identify and develop new projects and clients, prepare proposals, and capture new work.
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects.
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree (preferred, but not required) in Civil or Water Resources Engineering (or equivalent).
- Washington PE or ability to get reciprocity in Washington State.
- More than 10 years of experience, including more than 5 years of experience as a project manager, independently managing water resources projects
- Ability to bring in and develop new water resources clients and project opportunities.
- Experience with a diverse range of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and design software packages.
- Experience preparing and managing the development of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and opinions of probable cost for water resource projects.
- Experience managing projects and interfacing with clients.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Self-motivation, drive, and ability to work independently.
- A desire to help grow our water resources practice and take on a senior leadership role within Anchor QEA.
