Job Summary

Primary responsibility is to pull loads for delivery, stock product, keep yard clean and load customers.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Learn company products, procedures, culture and customer service philosophy
• Skilled knowledge of building materials to effectively construct loads for customer and/or construction site deliveries
• Build safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading orders and invoices
• Understand weight limits and length limits for fleet of trucks as to safely and lawfully load trucks
• Load and off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift
• Ensure that appropriate paper work is completed as per company policy
• Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by stocking inventory
• Perform daily safety inspections of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements

• Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices and protocols
• Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials
• Ability to read and interpret orders and invoices
• Ability to concentrate and attend to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Experience operating radial arm saw, cut-off saw, chain saw and forklift preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
• Ability to safely operate a forklift
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and interpret standard unit tape measures
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
• Ability to stand/walk for 4-10 hours per day
• Ability to lift 50 – 80 pounds
• Current driver’s license, and good driving record
