Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES
  • Develop the vision, strategies, team and performance metrics needed to continually strengthen our market position and develop additional markets)
  • Define a sales model and organization that will deliver growth goals at a cost that fits with long-term profitability targets
  • Recruit and build a sales organization of geographically dispersed team members
  • Drive connectivity to the competitive landscape, new technology and key market developments
  • Build and manage sales pipelines; prioritize and rationalize sales opportunities to optimize margin growth, capture short-term sales, and enable longer-term growth opportunities
  • Elevate and broaden relationships with key customers
  • Advise on and participate in complex negotiations as required.
  • Build a team dynamic that fosters collaboration across functions and divisions to create value for the business and our customers
  • Work with product line business leaders to develop market-driven innovation plans that drive long-term growth in target markets and lead the team in identifying strategic product development opportunities
  • Collaborate across Afinitas divisions to define and implement consistent best practices for sales leadership, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Foster a culture with a balance of people, purpose and performance in alignment with Barry-Wehmiller’s Guiding Principles of Leadership
  • Ensure ongoing development of inside and outside sales team members through needs assessment, technical and skills training, coaching, mentoring and continuous feedback
  • Establish and review KPI’s thoughtfully and critically to gain insights into the sales team performance
  • Travel as needed to support sales team members and engage with customers
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field; MBA preferred
    • Engineering degree or engineering coursework a plus
    • 10+ years’ experience in construction or industrial equipment industries, a plus
  • A successful track record of growing sales in a national or significant regional sales role, increasing scope of responsibility, building customer relationships, and leading, coaching and motivating sales teams
  • Experience in a strategic leadership role that required formulating plans and policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and present complex information in a concise, compelling and positive manner, as well as to listen and consider different points of view
  • Proficient in use of sales information systems, leveraging data/insights to identify opportunities and aid in decision-making
  • Strong understanding of the financials, metrics and disciplined business processes with the demonstrated ability to utilize financial reports and performance data in decision-making
  • Knowledge of business practices, sales and negotiating strategies, procurement tactics and business dynamics
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This is a remote position that spends time in manufacturing facilities. The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by Afinitas and/or the site management, when in the manufacturing area.
