Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Provide strategic HR partnership for change management initiatives in support of key business priorities and objectives. This role will also lead talent development and career management for the Growth function. This person will have a strong focus on building the talent bench strength across Growth including external pipeline development and programming to support ongoing development and growth.

This position is remote, where you will work from home, and may require you to occasionally commute to one of our offices for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We’re proud to offer you flexibility, so remote candidates will be considered who live near any of Synchrony hubs including: Alpharetta, GA, Chicago, IL, Costa Mesa, CA, Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Altamonte Springs, FL, Charlotte, NC, Cincinnati, OH, St. Paul, MN or Phoenix, AZ.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders on key business goals and objectives

  • Proactively develop HR strategies to meet short and long-term business needs and manage strategies from conception to implementation

  • Provide HR partnership for a variety of change management efforts within Growth and cross-functionally as needed

  • Proactively develop HR strategies to meet short and long-term business needs

  • Strong focus on developing internal talent through career programming efforts, talent engagement activities, training opportunities, etc.

  • Partners with staffing to identify and recruit strong diverse talent

  • Champion diversity, inclusion and equity efforts

  • Monitor adherence to all relevant Human Resource-related policies and practices and drive consistency across the function.

  • Lead other various initiatives or projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of HR experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of increasing HR Generalist or SME experience in Human Resources

  • Past or current experience supporting multiple executive level clients

  • Strong project management experience

  • Strong skills at building relationships with various levels in an organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Very strong influence and change management skills

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business-Related Field

  • A minimum of 12-months experience working with remote/virtual teams

  • Experience within financial services. Experience with private label credit cards or bank credit cards preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, high change environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large projects and to motivate others. Strong skills at building relationships with various levels in an organization. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 115,000.00 - 230,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
