The Help Group is currently looking for a Vocational/Financial Planning Specialist for our Prevention and Aftercare team. This unique child abuse prevention program serves DCFS -referred families with children ages 0-18, as well as at-risk families from the community that are in the need of family strengthening.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in social service field, education, child development, or business-related field
• Experience in assessing client needs, developing goals, and assisting with goal attainment
• Experience in working with at-risk, high need population preferred
• Strong social and communication skills, verbal and written to work with and within the multidisciplinary treatment team and ability to flex work schedule to accommodate client needs and P&A Program’s community outreach activities
• Ability to collaborate with community partners including subcontractors
• Strong organizational skills
• Valid CA driver’s license with good driving record and auto insurance; must be willing to drive in the community when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist clients with the development and implementation of their personal goals and objectives to meet their financial needs and increase family’s economic opportunities, ie, job readiness skills, money management, financial planning, etc.

Work in close collaboration and coordination with P&A multidisciplinary treatment team in order to meet the individual needs of each client and family

Develop curriculum and facilitate community activities that will increase participants’ skills and knowledge to improve their financial literacy

Coordinate with partner organizations to engage the community in P&A services and activities

Ensure proper and accurate documentation and data collection, and the timely submission of case notes, reports, billing logs, mileage, and other program needs.

Communicate with supervisor and the treatment team in case of crisis or pre-determined “red flag” situations immediately

Arrange work schedule of required hours to the benefit of the P&A Program and clients with approval of the Program Coordinator
