Pure Integration is seeking a Video Quality Assurance Engineer (Remote) to assist with Quality Assurance (Systems Integration, UAT, and performance testing) tasks of a scalable, microservice platform. This platform consists of a microservice backend running on AWS. The platform has high visibility as it is integral to our client's video delivery platforms. The team designs, develops, tests and delivers innovative products and services that are essential to bringing streaming video TV services to residential customers.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to support applications and systems and efforts to ensure changes to existing software or launches of new software meet business and organizational needs. The engineer should also be comfortable looking at source code for the services being tested as necessary to understand API usage or failure points, as well as collaborative with senior developers to understand the services being tested. The candidate will assist in executing quality assurance activities. The ideal candidate has experience supporting the implementation of scalable, high performing advertising solutions, including familiarity or ability to gain familiarity with various industry standards and specifications related to video advertising.

Location: Remote with occasional travel to office in Denver, CO

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Development and DevOps to build a test bed and generate test data supporting video ingest and delivery workflows.
• Help develop an approach and process to analyze the success of video delivery workflows including media analysis of various video encoding and transport technologies such as MPEG-2, MPEG-2TS, H.264, HLS, DASH
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support, enhance, and improve the efficiency of the business
• Serve as a liaison and facilitator between business units to assist in addressing and resolving issues, in collaboration with development, and deployment teams
• Provide recommendations to help drive process improvement for quality engineering
• Own deliverables such as, but not limited to issues and risks logs, test strategy, test plan, scripts, automation maturity process, and communications (written and verbal) to stakeholders – including senior management and executives
• Assist in user acceptance testing, documentation, and training for effective use of applications and technology
• Help analyze and improve existing AWS cloud architecture, design, and delivery
• Collaborate in deployment activities and conduct system integration validation
• Working closely with internal and external partners leads on current production system defects, changes or upgrades to resolve problems and improve processes or systems
• Investigate and resolve application and system functionality related issues and provide assistance with troubleshooting
• Define, prioritize, and execute testing scope for end-to-end functional, non-functional, regression, integration, performance, regression, smoke testing
• Promote the improvement of CI/CD automation and efficiency through code/scripts and process rigor
• Maintain an ongoing understanding of architecture be a supporter of standardized implementation approach.
• Establish open channels of communication with engineering and operations teams, facilitating efficient issue elevation and resolutions
• Manage software packaging and deployment for video advertising platforms for IP video delivery
• Drive on & offshore coordination of all QA/QE efforts
• Some Hands-on development experience is preferred
• Assist in Production Operations and Maintenance issues
• Be a champion of for quality elevation for our client delivery

Requirements:

• 5-8 years quality engineering / assurance / hands-on testing
• Self-starter, strong communications, analytical and process skills set
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering with software development and deployment experience or similar
• Experience with video advertising platform
• Must have prior Quality Engineering experience helping manage multiple integrated deployment environments
• Must have experience functioning through CI/CD pipelines and validating multiple deployment branches, while utilizing QA management tool sets
• Experience with full software testing automation, including Continuous
• Integration/Continuous Deployment/Delivery, DevOps, UI/UX (web, mobile), API/services, and database level validation automation
• Microservice, AWS, Cloud engineering & architecture experience. Familiarity with various Software development methodologies such as SAFE/Agile.
• Strong understanding of networking and video technologies
• Past experience with system integration and successful deployment of video products for DVB system and/or IPTV a plus.
• Familiarity with various Video encoding and transport technologies such as MPEG-2, MPEG-2TS, H.264, HLS, DASH.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with microservice platforms running video delivery services
• Cable and video Industry experience; specifically, with Dynamic Ad Insertion and/or Video Delivery Pipelines
• At least 1 year of experience in a lead role preferred
• Familiarity with various industry standards and specifications related to video advertising and content switching such as SCTE-35, SCTE-130, SCTE-224, IAB-VAST/VMAP (highly desired)
