Responsibilities and Core Functions:
Provide administrative, operational and clinical leadership for Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc. (TFHC), ensuring that operations are conducted according to professional, clinical and regulatory standards that will result in fully integrated, high quality and cost-effective health care outcomes; direct oversight of clinical operations as well as oversight of healthcare centers; in concert with executive leadership, focus on optimization of culture, quality, safety, patient care outcomes and the patient experience; collaboratively develop and implement short and long-term strategic plans, including significant change management and performance improvement initiatives, maximizing financial performance and creating effective relationships to deliver sustained value to the community
Specific Authorities and Duties:
- Directs quality improvement initiatives and programs through subordinate staff.
- Directly lead, supervise, and develop the Director of Clinical Services, Referrals manager
And case management department.
- Maintains TFHC Patient Care Services policies and procedures to ensure that all policies and procedures remain in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Focus on quality outcomes/improvement, productivity and utilization by coordinating efforts with Quality Improvement, Performance Outcome and Case Management departments.
- Strategize, develop, and direct operations of the clinical services department to ensure provision of high quality, cost-effective medical services.
- Ensures reporting oversight for clinical services and other applicable departments
- Manages and implements directly and through subordinate staff, policies and practices in compliance with AAAHC/NCQA requirements.
- Coordinates activities with other organizational departments, clinical staff and other collaborating agencies
- Leads and fosters a culture across TFHC that supports designation in each entity and overall organization, as a system of Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
- Maintain a close working relationship with leaders and medical team to promote efficient and effective patient care
- Develops, implements, and evaluates processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient use of staff, facilities, equipment, and other resources while maintaining patient care standards
- Assist in preparation of grants in conjunction with CHSO, CFO and CMO
- Provides input on annual budget based on workload indicators and anticipated expenses/needs
- Monitors and controls clinical costs to maintain expenditures within budget(s)
- Recommends acquisition of capital medical equipment
- Assure that patient care delivery model(s) as well as clinical and staffing standards for the clinical team are consistent with current research and professional standards and with the mission, vision and values of the organization
- Develop and implement organization policies and procedures in conjunction with leadership
- Provides leadership and direction for the development of strategies to support clinical workforce development and promote recruitment, retention and recognition of excellence in nursing
- Review and analyze clinical activities and data to aid in planning, reducing costs, and reducing risk to improve service utilization
- Establish clinical goals and objectives and evaluate to determine if meeting operational criteria
- Attends center committee meetings, board of director meetings and other community functions as appropriate, leveraging strong collaborative relationships with community leaders; serves as a senior spokesperson for TFHC initiatives
- Leads and drives multi-disciplinary integration across the organization
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum (3) years executive experience in a primary health care nursing, community health or public health setting
- (3) years’ experience as a supervisor in a primary health care facility
- Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic health record
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw solid conclusions
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Education, Certification, Training and License:
- Nursing school graduate
- Current RN license
