SUMMARY: The VP of HR - Gaming will partner with the SVP of Gaming Ops and the VP of Gaming Ops to drive HR programs, processes, and projects across the assigned business units. Will work with the Sr. HR Leaders - Gaming at CDI to administer human resources policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs with business operational leaders to fully understand business issues, and how HR can best support achieving results. Responsible to help develop a culture that will promote equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Acts as a partner and adviser to the SVP of Gaming Operations and the HR teams to support business and HR objectives
  • Collaborates with the other Sr. HR Leaders – Gaming to leverage their expertise in delivering and implementing functional initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the gaming leadership team to define the long-term goals and how to support those through talent management.
  • Identifies key performance indicators for HR and talent management.
  • Participates in HR and SVP of Gaming staff meetings and works to expand the level of knowledge in all HR processes and procedures.
  • Supports Sr. HR Leaders - Gaming with general issues pertaining to benefits, policy interpretation, employee performance and other HR products and deliverables.
  • Ensures compliance of and maintains knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning on boarding, employment, employee relations, and employee counseling to include terminations.
  • Ensures effective, thorough and objective investigations and comprehensive reports from the Sr.HR Leaders.
  • Analyzes exit interview data and makes recommendations to the HR and business team for corrective action, continuous improvement and to increase retention rates.
  • Analyzes employee engagement survey data and advises the local HR teams during action planning and team follow-up. Looks to identify trends across locations and works with SVP of Gaming to make recommendations for improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will supervise the CDI Sr. HR Leaders - Gaming.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and 10-15 years of human resource experience. HR leadership with multiple sites in the casino/entertainment/hospitality industry preferred.
  • SPHR or PHR a plus.
  • Demonstrated, considerable knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills.
  • Superior communication, both oral and written, cooperation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent HRIS, MS Office Suite skills required. Self-starter and problem-solver strong plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • The ability to research and analyze various types of data.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or law.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications, HRIS, and timekeeping/reporting preferred.
  • Understanding of all applicable employment, EEOC and other laws that pertain to the Human Resource functions with thorough knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with team members and guests.
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and special events as designated by the SVP of HR and/or SVP of Gaming.
  • Ability to travel.

  • 10 - 15 years: HR Leadership experience in gaming.

Required
  • Bachelors or better in Human Resource Administration or related field
