ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – Palm Beach County is hiring an ambitious, experienced, and outgoing Technician Trainer to join our ever-growing team in our Emergency and Specialty departments. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and have a proven track record of developing successful training programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports current training objectives and organization, while creating and supplementing additional technical training coursework as necessary
• Work with the veterinary team to assess training needs and develop training plans to address areas of weakness.
• Administer written and practical exams for technical training, and work with department leads to provide updates on technical performance for review purposes
• Assist in the arrangement and provision of technical training for all pertinent staff through multiple forums/modalities/times to maximize exposure to 24-hour staff
• Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to veterinary technicians to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
• Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as needed to ensure that they meet the needs of the veterinary team and our patients.
• Assist in technical staff reviews in a skill/technical assessment capacity to ensure staff members are provided clear expectations and understand how they perform compared to those expectations
• Write tests, and practical exercises as needed for all technical training
• Create and maintain training materials, including presentations, handouts, and training manuals.
• Scheduling and organizing all technical training meetings, classes, and practical coursework

The best candidates:

• Ideally are a Veterinary Technician Specialist
• Have a minimum of 5 years as a licensed, registered, or certified veterinary technician
• Are compassionate and resilient
