Are you looking to join a fun loving family first privately owned and managed practice? We at Farmer's Veterinary Hospital are a full service medical and surgical veterinary hospital seeking a full time, compassionate, and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician/Licensed Veterinary Technician.

Location

Our facility is located in Henrico County, Virginia, a quick 15-minute drive from the historical downtown Richmond, Virginia. Home to a river that runs straight through the community, you get the best riverside view and paddling trips. Only 1.5 hours East from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and 1 hour West of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there is something to do every weekend to enjoy the outdoors.

Practice Overview

Since 1929, Farmers Veterinary Hospital has been passionate about delivering high-quality care to our patients. As time has passed, so has the evolution of veterinary medicine. We utilize state-of-the-art equipment including an IDEXX Vetlab station, Midmark high-speed dental unit with digital dental radiology, Avimark paper-lite PMS, and an in-house surgical suite with advanced monitoring capabilities to provide the best possible care. While we have the latest modern technology, we also have an incredible team! We’ve worked hard to build a culture of collaboration, transparency and teamwork. What You'll Be Working On

• Leading and completing Technician appointments
• Assisting in collection and processing of lab samples
• Data entry in medical records
• Prepping and monitoring surgical patients
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
• Educating clients and relaying message from doctors to clients
• Preparing and approving medications

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years Veterinary field experience required
• Preferred 1 year experience as a licensed veterinary technician
• Basic Computer skills- Google and Microsoft
• Good at multitasking
• Avimark, Idexx, Weave or Petdesk experience is a plus
• Comfortable with verbal communication
• Confident in basic Veterinary Technician technical skills

All clients are required to be masked when entering the building.

Experience:

• Veterinary Experience: 2 years (Required)
• Veterinary Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Veterinary Technician License (Required)
