Job Summary:

Drives Vending Truck. Stocks and maintains full-service vending machines with products such as soft drinks, sports drinks, snack foods, cold food, and coffee. Delivers bulk water, wholesale items, and office coffee products. Provide delivery and service to Micro-market locations inside designated client facilities.

Essential duties

  • Provides superior customer service and promotes good customer relationships through professional and courteous communication with customers while servicing accounts.
  • Maintain executional excellence by utilizing information provided by your Supervisor.
  • Travels through territory safely to maintain full-service vending accounts according to set schedule.
  • Works in a timely and efficient manner without direct supervision.
  • Responsible for ensuring vending machines are stocked adequately, clean, properly labeled, and product is fresh.
  • Collects cash from vending machines and kiosks, responsible for ensuring each money bag is delivered to the money room. Issues refunds to customers and refills coin mechanism.
  • Uses mobile handheld to service accounts, count inventory, and write orders; uses computer to print order and inventory reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining product inventory in route truck as well as in machines.
  • Arranges products according to pre-arranged vending machine planograms, yet keeps Supervisor informed when product selection rotation needs to happen.

· Reviews pre-kit orders to ensure that unattended market is fully stocked and well merchandised.

· Suggests new products to enhance the consumer experience of unattended retail locations.

· Report under-performing products to Supervisor to allow space for new product.

· Fills designated retail market to proper inventory levels with such items as soft drinks, coffee, cups, condiments, and snack items.

· Responsible for proper handling & dating of perishable food products. (All cold food and milk products must be kept refrigerated). Identifies and removes product that is beyond the best-by date or will be past the best-by date prior to the next service. Verifies and records temperatures on refrigeration logs, notifies management when temperature exceeds safety zones.

· Replenishes and rotates stock in reach-in coolers, on shelves, coffee racks, or in designated merchandising locations. Rotates product to ensure first-in and first-out product utilization. Properly displays product (straight–up and facing forward).

· Informs regular customers of new products or services, listens to, and resolves service complaints, sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issues sales promotion materials to customers.

· Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of market modules, beverage coolers, and kiosk; Reports all out of service equipment to designated maintenance repair service operators or technician dispatcher.

· Assist with future market installs and grand opening events

  • Wear company provided uniform and present a professional and well-groomed image to customers and market place.
  • Other duties as assigned.

· Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid WA State Driver’s License and proof of Vehicle Insurance. Must meet company required standards on driving record. Experience driving box truck preferred.

· Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months work related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Communication Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present Information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.

· Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Read and understand scheduling.

· Computer Skills

Basic computer skills required including use of a handheld computer and printing reports from software.

· Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the outside weather conditions.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.

· Company Vehicles &Property

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is responsible for monitoring the maintenance of their company provided vehicle and reporting issues that arise to their immediate supervisor and the maintenance department. Employees will refrain from using any vehicle that is not in full and safe working order. All safety suggestions and regulations regarding vehicle use will be followed by employees. This includes the use of seatbelts and hands free cell phone equipment.

All employees that take home company vehicles are required to keep a mileage log showing total business and personal usage.

Company vehicle are to be driven by Eastern Cascade Distributing employees.

Employees should keep their use of the company vehicle for personal use to a minimum

Employee is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their vehicle.(inside and out)
