We have an exciting opportunity for a Value Stream Manager at our Tipton, PA facility. The Value Stream Manager plans, directs and manages the production and engineering of assigned areas of responsibility to ensure safe and efficient operations that satisfy customer requirements. He/she meets budget goals and objectives as well as OEE objectives. As a member of the plant leadership team he/she is responsible for plant continuous improvement efforts in areas of safety, quality and value.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Value Stream Manager at our Tipton, PA facility. The Value Stream Manager plans, directs and manages the production and engineering of assigned areas of responsibility to ensure safe and efficient operations that satisfy customer requirements. He/she meets budget goals and objectives as well as OEE objectives. As a member of the plant leadership team he/she is responsible for plant continuous improvement efforts in areas of safety, quality and value.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned manufacturing department on four shifts. This requires ability to effectively influence support department that don’t report to the VSM for optimal results from the area of responsibility.
- Manage performance of four production supervisors, two to three engineers and two to three Process Specialists as well as up to 100 hourly production employees.
- Responsible for providing a safe and healthful work environment by ensuring proper safety training, regular safety communications and meetings with area associates, and compliance to EHS requirements. The incumbent also investigates unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Ensures a continual focus on shrinkage loss, line downtime, pattern change duration, expense spending, labor costs, overtime, sample performance, extra costs of rework, new part startup costs, customer PPMs and area’s safety performance. The incumbent strives for a proactive environment for doing it right the first time.
- Responsible for the planning necessary to meet production schedules and for continuous improvements in his/her specific area, utilizing the technical and maintenance support groups and other service departments to meet plant goals in safety, quality and value.
- Responsible for finding solutions to quality and production problems and making day-to-day decisions on utilization of resources and materials.
- Responsible for ensuring equipment reliability and continual process improvement
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineer, Business or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a diverse workforce in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience as a first line supervisor is also required.
- The ability to create a cohesive team environment through leadership, coaching and performance management to deliver the expected results
- Experience in automotive glass fabrication technology
- Experience with and education in Lean Six Sigma principals
- Business knowledge of how the use of key process indicators (KPIs) drive results
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience successfully managing a 24/7 or multi-shift factory operation
