Valuation Analyst Job at EDF Renewables North America
The Valuation Analyst supports the Valuation Lead in certain areas of work on behalf of the Atlantic Shores Commercial Director and by doing so, supports in guiding the JV through the wider Valuation landscape.
The Valuation Analyst will work with the wider JV team to further improve the business case in order to take Financial close / FID on Project 1 and any future JV project. In particular, valuation support will focus on future bids in the JV’s target markets (NJ, NY), with projects emanating for the entire portfolio (Lease 0499, 0549, 0541). Any given project size could be to the tune of $2-6bln USD CAPEX.
Responsibilities:95% Economic modeling
- Use ASOW DCF model to support the optimization of ASOW Project 1
- Drive the economic development of future JV projects from all JV leases
- Work on ad-hoc model adjustment to adapt the current JV model to different financial structures and regulations
- Modelling support for NY and NJ Rd3 bids
- Support external financial advisors/sponsors in day-to-day modelling queries
- Support the development of a Hydrogen Pilot model, fit for purpose for JV needs

Supervision of Others:
No direct report
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Business is required
- Proficient in excel modelling (VBA or python is a significant advantage)
- 3/4+ years of relevant work experience within renewable and/or offshore industry leading high-profile projects and modelling work. Any experience with offshore wind a significant competitive advantage
- Some experience with Project Finance and tax Equity deals is required.
- Ability to understand economic analysis techniques and practical application of economic theory, decision theory/tools and statistical analysis
- Working proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint / Word)
- The successful candidate is able to interface independently with internal and external subject matter experts (from JV technical leads and power price experts to parent companies’ economists and financial advisors), elaborate the information received and correctly implement them in the JV discounted cashflow model, to produce fit for purpose economic valuations.

- The position requires strong analytical skills, and an ability to organize, analyze and communicate impact of decisions to team members, partners, and other stakeholders
- Self-starter with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills (listening, inquiry, advocacy, facilitation and negotiation)
- Strong communication skills and ability to grow into a trusted advisor
- Advanced excel expertise and modelling skills are essential
- Willingness and capacity to dive into analytical details, and surface with crisp summary of key insights
- Results-driven team player comfortable working in a diverse and fast-paced work environment; must deliver high quality results on tight timelines, while working effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with quantitative risk modelling and inclusion on these results into economic analyses
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel every month to an Atlantic Shores or parent office for 3-5 days at a time.
Working Conditions:
Significant time to be spent in Atlantic Shores office in Brooklyn, New York – with regular visits to the Atlantic Shores offices in Boston, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Some visits to parent organizations’ sites will be required. The Valuation Lead will also be attending various (wind) conferences and meetings. During project construction, presence on site may be required.
