National Renal Care, LLC, a dialysis management company, is currently seeking a Unit Assistant to help out temporarily at our Kidney Care Center of the North Valley Dialysis Location. The Unit Clerk is responsible for clerical and administrative support for the facility(s) daily operation.

Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsible to:

Facility Administrator

Duties:

  • Demonstrate effective use of supplies and labor hours
  • Perform duties as assigned to meet the operational/and or patient care needs of the facility
  • Prepares lab slips and tubes for routine and non-routine blood draws and direct to appropriate lab as required.
  • Prepares lab reqs and transport to the lab when needed
  • Assist when needed in accordance to patient outcomes with stellar quality patient care and NRC goals.
  • Receives and makes outgoing calls in a professional and kind manner at all times. Answers calls promptly identifying self and location.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of patient medical and personal records and information
  • Updates and maintains patient medical records accurately and timely
  • Prepares patient files and charts for daily tx
  • Files in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assist FA in monitoring clinical documentation for accuracy and completion
  • Assists in audit records for ongoing compliance with records standards
  • Sends treatment log to doctors’ offices as requested
  • Prepares billing / attendance logs
  • Inputs PD charges, acute care, and other charges as requires/requested
  • Sends new and updates patient information and updated patient information to billing
  • Handles assorted billing issues
  • May update patient schedule for treatments under directions of the FA
  • Prepares any correspondence needed by staff in a professional and efficient manner
  • Completes forms and reports that are required by company and government agencies
  • Monitors office supplies and reorder if necessary
  • Sorts mail and distributes accordingly
  • Maintains a clean and well organized environment
  • Maintains a safe office environment
  • Use appropriate safety measures including personal protective equipment as needed
  • Must be familiar with all emergency procedures
  • Must greet patients, family members and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist patients with transportation arrangements. Complete travel authorizations and expense reports for FA.
  • Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-service and continuing education offerings in compliance with NRC policies and procedures

Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Qualifications include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Six months of relevant experience in a clinical/healthcare setting preferred
  • Minimum of one-year experience in administrative functions preferred
  • Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency in all NRC applications required within 90 days of hire
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to organize time and tasks well

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
