Transportation Mechanic Job at Hog Slat, Inc.
As a Transportation Mechanic, the primary role of the person in this position is to locate causes of equipment malfunction, repairing broken parts and assuring preventative maintenance activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.
- Use manual and computerized diagnostic methods to identify potential problems
- Perform basic automotive care
- Test parts and systems to ensure they work correctly
- Ensure all critical parts are checked and tested
- Repair or replace worn, old or defective parts
- Join the rest of the team members in the tasks required to maintain a clean and orderly shop
- Arrive on-time and ready to work for all scheduled hours
- Continually upgrade industry knowledge
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/educational background:
- Mechanical Skills and knowledge of mechanical systems
- Ability to schedule
- Ability to work effectively in a team context
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to obtain forklift certification and use a forklift regularly
- Understanding of the use of E-mail and Microsoft Office products in daily tasks
- Ability to quickly learn inventory management software
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
