Tractor Trailer Mechanic Job Description:

Maintains a working knowledge and skill proficiency in performing preventative and repair maintenance functions on Cargo Tank trailers and Powered Unit Tractors, both on site and on the road.

Tractor Trailer Mechanic Functions include:

Air and hydraulic brake systems, Electrical systems, Suspension and components, Air and hydraulic valves and venting systems, Tire work, HVAC components, Steering components, Pumps, Compressors, PTO and Drivelines, Frame replacement and repair, and Heating system and repairs. Must complete applicable company training programs and work in confined space areas that require appropriate safety equipment and PPE at all times. Perform other job related duties as assigned or apparent. Tractor Trailer Mechanic Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior Cargo Tank experience: Preferably three (3) years of verifiable experience with Cargo Tank inspections and testing.
• Preferably one (1) year of verifiable experience with Preventative and Repair Maintenance on Tractor and Trailer.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language to the extent necessary to familiarize self with company policy as well as state and federal rules and regulations, to comprehend technical manuals, to properly complete all repair and maintenance reports.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass non-D.O.T. drug test and physical.
• Must be able to meet medical qualifications for respirator fitness and usage.
• Welding experience a plus (Stainless, Aluminum, Mild Steel (TIG and MIG).
• Must supply your own tools.
