Innovative Staff Solutions has new direct hire opportunities available for Tool and Die Maker/Machinist in Henderson, KY! These are direct hire, full-time positions available immediately with a leading employer in the Henderson, KY area. They have openings on 1st shift (7a-3p), 2nd shift (3p-11p), and 3rd (11p-7a). Employees on 2nd or 3rd shift receive $1 per hour shift differential! This is a full-time 40+ hours per week position, with overtime/weekend shifts possible as needed. As a Tool and Die Maker/Machinist, you will be responsible for ensuring our client’s customers receive a quality die cast product by maintaining the casting and trim dies through proper preventive care and regular maintenance. Tool and Die Technicians are responsible for safely performing all tasks required to meet safety and production goals while maintaining our client’s 7-S system.

Duties + Responsibilities

• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established client’s 7-S Guidelines
• Performs routine maintenance on casting and trim dies in the tool room or on the production floor
• Tears down dies for maintenance and refurbishment
• Makes die repair card corrections to tooling and documents those corrections on the repair cards and other supporting documentation
• Enters tasks in the electronic tool room database daily
• Operates all tool room equipment safely and productively
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine and grinder to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to Quality required specifications
• Uses stoning tools and other pneumatic or hydraulic tools to repair pins, cavities, dies, etc
• Performs general welding for repairs and maintenance
• Uses sandblasting equipment to clean cavities
• Demonstrates good organization skills
• Able to work weekends and overtime as required
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours and overtime as assigned
• Meets all physical and environmental requirements
• Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment
• Follows all Environmental Policy and Quality Policy guidelines
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Certifications: Must have successfully completed or be willing to complete blueprint reading, geometric tolerance classes, and any other training as required by management. Must be willing to complete Journeyman or CNC apprenticeship program if not yet certified.

Experience: 1 year die cast or machine shop related experience.

Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, prints.

Math: Ability to perform basic math, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication in whole numbers, or complete training required for math applications such as basic geometry or trigonometry.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of database software, internet software and manufacturing software.

Other: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must complete all required classes assigned through the training matrix.
