Therapist & Clinical Consultant (Early Childhood & School-Age) Job at CEDARS Youth Services
- Must possess a genuine care and concern for children and families
- Must meet the requirement for licensure for mental health practice in Nebraska
- Must be fully licensed (LMHP) or a highly qualified provisionally licensed applicant (PLMHP) with relevant clinical experience (exception may also be made for a highly qualified Masters-level graduate student who is able to attain a provisional license within 6 months of hire, and has work experience in the child development field)
- Two or more years of experience working with children, youth, and families is preferred
- Strong clinical skills in evidence based treatments
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Knowledge of trauma informed care
- Autonomous worker who can manage time wisely
- Organized and able to maintain client files
- A collaborative team member who enjoys building relationships with others
Reports To: Service Director for Early Childhood and School-Age Programs
Classification: Exempt
Schedule: 40 hours flexible scheduling, but with some evenings and rotational on-call schedule
Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000

Program Description
CEDARS Clinical Services team provides therapy services for children, youth, and families in CEDARS care, as well as clinical consultation and training for programs and direct care staff to best meet client needs. This position will provide support, consultation, and training to young children, parents, and staff within CEDARS Early Childhood Development Center, which offers licensed and accredited early childhood care and education to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as CEDARS three Community Learning Centers at Clinton, Hartley, and Randolph Elementary Schools. CEDARS Early Childhood Development Center and Community Learning Centers strive to provide holistic care by meeting the developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of the children served. Recognizing the importance that families play in the healthy development of children, CEDARS takes a family-centered approach by engaging families in services and connecting them to additional supports and resources when necessary
Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health support and consultation to children, families, and staff in the CEDARS Early Childhood Development Center and three school-age Community Learning Center programs, using a foundation of the Pyramid Model/Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, trauma-informed care, and knowledge of childhood mental health
- Ensure a therapeutic environment of care for clients in the assigned programs
- Conduct observations and assessments of children and classrooms
- Provide staff/parent coaching and training to promote social-emotional development
- Assist in the development and facilitation of individualized behavior support plans to support the success of identified children within assigned programs
- Provide direct counseling services when appropriate; Monitor the progress and achievement of goals for assigned children and families
- Function as an effective member of the interdisciplinary team and facilitate parent team meetings as needed.
