Position Summary
Edrington’s vision is to become the world’s leading portfolio of ultra-premium spirits. We will achieve this by brand building at every touchpoint and increasing our proximity to our customers and consumers. The National Account Trade Marketing Manager will collaborate with the wider marketing team, commercial leaders and distributor partners of National Accounts to develop, present, execute and measure customer/trade marketing programs to top national on-premise accounts aligning with other brand/e-commerce plans. This role will contribute to improvement of market share, visibility, customer satisfaction, productivity performance and executional consistency and excellence.
This individual will lead and champion the planning process for National on-premise accounts for The Macallan. This role will initiate the development and execution of Joint Business Plans and marketing RFPs leveraging consumer insights. Working with the Smart Distribution and National Account Analyst they will build and communicate reporting that will be used by distributor partners and commercial teams to ensure distribution where we have mandates and authorizations.
The goal is to accelerate our national account on-trade marketing activities across the USA by developing programs and leveraging best practices from proximity market executions to create scalable programming and consumer experiences, championing continuous improvement in execution and performance. This role will ensure trade tracking of national account programs through GoSpotCheck and ensure excellence in accountability, reporting and inputs.
Job Description
  • Lead the development of national and regional account specific on-trade marketing programs in line with brand strategy, working with top identified accounts to create plans to increase success rate of brand presence, perception and recommendation ensuring executional excellence.
  • Lead and oversee short and long lead National Account Trade Marketing projects and promotional materials ensuring all artwork and POS elements are on brand strategy and delivered on time. Always maintain brand guidelines and luxury standards.
  • Deliver innovative solutions and customer specific programming to drive conversion and at the point of purchase through initiatives that are relevant to account requirements. Develop and communicate relevant materials to assist with sell in.
  • Lead the National Account annual planning process ensuring commercial deadlines are met and consumer and trade activities are planned to for proper execution and RFP timelines.
  • Partner with eCommerce team to connect strategies, where applicable, with digital shopper and e-commerce plans, ensuring 360 activation plans.
  • Contribute to the RFP process and annual distributor summits by leading the marketing portion.
  • Collaborate with consumer insights teams to leverage capabilities, develop insights, and ensure our brands are top of mind in planning. Be a key contributor to summit meetings and ensure follow through on plans and programs.
  • Track, analyse, and communicate compliance of mandates and authorizations to respective commercial and distributor teams.
  • Attend workshops with relevant units to ensure development and updates. Attend brand marketing strategy meetings and examines their strategies as basis for creating national account trade marketing programs.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Division Brand Managers and commercial teams to ensure synergies across divisions, manage relevant agencies ensuring executional excellence, expectation setting and assets available for deployment. Ensure all activity is tracked via GoSpotCheck.
  • Share best practices and examples of executional excellence within the USA Marketing Team, and wider Americas and Global organisation through quality photos, data capture and impact measurement.
  • Create meaningful PowerPoint pitches and presentations deliverable to senior decision makers internally and externally for use throughout various strategic meetings.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ marketing experience in luxury goods and services or the food and beverage industry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential; must be comfortable interacting with internal and external leadership.
  • Agency management skills, clear briefing, and communication skills.
  • Establishes yearly joint business planning process with National Accounts, Regional Accounts, Distributors, and brand teams feeding into the overall planning process.
  • Must be able to work and develop relationships in a cross-functional team and lead/influence stakeholders.
  • Well organized with a proven track record in a change oriented and entrepreneurial environment. The ability to handle multiple/diverse tasks while adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational awareness and ability to manage complexity.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence.
  • Positive attitude when facing opportunities and challenges.
  • Monitor competitive trade marketing programs.
  • Great awareness of existing national accounts and opportunities.

  • Travel requirement up to 30% as needed to perform job function.
