The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the Archdiocese is seeking a temporary Help Desk Technician.
The temporary Help Desk technician will provide level 1 and 2 support for approximately 300 users at ten locations in the Washington metropolitan area. The temporary Help Desk Technician will report to the Help Desk Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain and upgrade hardware inventory including imaging, configuration, and installation as well as troubleshooting hardware issues in desktops, laptops with docking stations, and desktop/network printers.
· Assist with general user support.
· Troubleshoot issues over the phone using remote support tools.
· Utilize knowledge of Active Directory, file storage and Microsoft Office365 in support of the staff and infrastructure.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong written communication skills including technical writing.
· Exceptional customer service skills.
· Familiarity of shell scripting, Windows PowerShell or WMI to automate endpoint administration and support.
· Use of automation tools such as Microsoft SCCM.
· Knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic faith and organizational structure of the Church.
Required Education and Experience
· Associates degree in a technical field or relevant certifications required.
· CompTIA A+ (or higher) certification or equivalent may be substituted for education requirement.
· 3 to 5 years of experience in desktop support
· A positive team player with a proven track record of user support
· Familiarity with enterprise helpdesk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Windows 10/11, Mac OS, VPN, Adobe Creative Cloud, Mobile device management, and Microsoft Office365.
· Ability to troubleshoot computer/printer issues over the phone using remote support tools.
· Experience supporting in person and virtual meeting platforms and A/V configurations.
· An interest in learning networking concepts and supporting infrastructure including wireless access points, firewalls, and switches is a plus.
· Able to travel to affiliate sites around the Archdiocese.
· Must have reliable transportation.
Work Environment
· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Travel
· This position may require occasional travel to meetings and facilities within the Archdiocese of Washington.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
