Mesa seeks a Technician-TL Drafting-Entry Level with the following skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Ability to understand and apply basic graphical presentation concepts and drafting practices.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment.
• Possess willingness to accept responsibility.
• Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Microstation and Microsoft Office Suites.
• Possess willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Entry level position, a two-year associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting or technology preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:

• Normal office environment with occasional field trips to plant sites requiring ability to walk and climb stairs or ladders in a plant or industrial environment occasionally requiring occasional overnight (or longer) stays.
• Possess willingness to develop, promote and comply with Mesa safety requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works under direct supervision of higher-level designers/technicians.
• Performs mostly non-technical drafting support for assigned projects, utilizing computer aided design technology.
• Manages personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.
• Performs basic CAD and manual drafting based on mark-ups and direction obtained from designers and engineers.
• Assigned basic, routine drafting work with few technical items requiring resolution.
• Work is spot checked in progress and checked upon completion.
• Responsible for back checking own work to minimize rework.
• Primarily a training position.

Experience

• Less than 2 year(s): Entry Level Drafting Technician. Must be Proficient in utilizing AutoCAD and possess a understanding of drafting to support design projects.

Education

• Associates or better in Civil Engineering or related field
