Position Description
As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for growing parts revenue, within a multi-state territory, through increasing sales with the current customer base while acquiring sales through new customers. You will be responsible for processing parts sales and customer orders, and responding to customer's inquiries, questions, or complaints regarding parts, maintenance, and support services in a timely manner. You will seek remedies to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Responsibilities will include:
- Exceed annual aftermarket parts & service revenue growth objectives, while maintaining gross margin, through aggressive business strategy combining in-person meetings, telemarketing strategies, and e-commerce marketing initiatives.
- Develop professional rapport and cultivate positive, beneficial relationships with customers.
- Develop excellent product and application knowledge of OEM’s air pollution control equipment.
- Provide consultative and solutions-oriented sales to customers in a timely manner.
- Provide technical information by answering questions and requests; demonstrate company’s Aftermarket capabilities by preparing and conducting sales presentations and training materials as necessary.
- Effectively communicate and work cross-functionally with the Aftermarket Sales and Field Service Team, and all other product support teams.
- Generate sales opportunities and proposals by using product and industry-specific knowledge and technical expertise.
- Collaborate sold services, service quotes, and maintenance contracts with Inside Parts Team and Field Service Manager to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Continually monitor market trends as it relates to current and new offerings, direct competitors, as well as new market opportunities within assigned territory.
- Actively participate in offered sales training and development programs to help progress overall success and capabilities.
- Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions, budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
- Assist in hiring Field Service Technicians.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Other projects as assigned.
- Associate or Technical degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Prior experience in parts sales, service, or air pollution control or related field a plus.
- General knowledge of control schematics, PLC’s and monitoring devices desired.
- Proven ability to work effectively with little or no supervision.
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of systems troubleshooting.
- Highly motivated and energetic with serious work ethic.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Must be sales oriented at heart.
- Focused, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Able to make sound business decisions and solve problems.
- Advanced technical knowledge.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
