Yosemite Pathology is a private independent pathologist owned and operated surgical
pathology and cytology laboratory based in Modesto, CA. YP provides comprehensive
state of the art, reliable, and accurate diagnostic services to its physicians and major
area hospitals in the Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Kern, Mariposa,
Merced, San Joaquin, Solano, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties.
YP offers a full spectrum of tissue pathology, cytology, and histology services, including
examination of gynecologic specimens, body fluids and fine needle aspiration
specimens. We also offer an extensive array of special stains and
immunohistochemistry to assist in the management of oncologic and non-oncologic
diseases. The laboratory is supported by highly qualified Histotechnologist,
Cytotechnologist, Technicians and office staff who offer excellent service.
Summary/Objective
The responsibilities of the Systems Administrator are to install, configure, and maintain
an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), operating
systems, and physical and virtual servers. Perform system monitoring and verify the
integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources. Review system
and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.
Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and
upgrade software and maintain software licenses. May assist in network modeling,
analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications
hardware and software.
Essential Functions
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing
environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications
software, and all configurations.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and
system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise applications such as email and anti-
virus.
- Monitors and acts on data security and compliance issues
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments are needed and
where changes will be needed in the future.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data,
software, and hardware.
- Analyze equipment performance records to determine the need for repair or
replacement.
- Confer with network users about solutions to existing system problems.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and
determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and
operating system software.
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control
records.
- Provide companywide training for new processes and applications.
- Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair
records.
- Monitor and audit systems for security, performance, and alerting.
- Utilize helpdesk software to track user requests and work completed.
- Maintain Active Directory user information, create new users accounts, reset
passwords, and deactivate accounts for terminated employees.
- Use technical writing and effective documentation skills to thoroughly document
problem resolutions using the helpdesk system for future troubleshooting support
and historical reference.
- Manage electronic inventory of all software and hardware
- Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify,
predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate purchases.
- Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such
as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School diploma or two years of experience within an IT role.
- A bachelor's or degree in information technology, programming, or computer
science preferred.
- Broad working knowledge of computer networking, installation, and
administration.
- A strong understanding of network technologies such as VPN, Wireless, and SSL
Certificates.
- A strong understanding of telephony including Voip and Mobile Device
Management tools
- A basic understanding of Microsoft cloud services and related technologies such
as PowerShell, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Experience with database management and project management.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Expertise in troubleshooting viruses and other computer problems.
- The ability to remain up-to-date with the latest software developments.

Work Environment
This position operates in an office environment and involves frequent time spent at a
desk using a computer. This position works individually, as well as with peers and
supervisors frequently.

performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The
employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and
reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10
pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
