Primary Objective:
Our CCTV Operator in Training assists the CCTV Operator and Tech with the deployment and operation of specialized closed-circuit video equipment on mobile platforms to conduct inspections of sanitary and storm sewers utilizing NASSCO certified software.
Assists the CCTV Operator with locating manholes, performing confined space entry operations, and performing other duties as assigned. During the course of inspection procedures, the CCTV Operator in Training will learn to assess the optimum method of conducting the inspection. Learn to direct appropriate pre-inspection flushing and stringing of lead lines, set up and adjust equipment prior to entry into the pipes, monitor and control the progress of the televising unit while in operation and prepare the necessary inspection reports. Along with learning the necessary maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure optimum performance.
The CCTV Operator in Training will learn the needs of professional communication skills with the team members, Public, Customers, Home, and Business owners.
Strong Customer service and communication skills along with mechanical aptitude are required.
Essential Duties:
- Participate in daily safety meetings prior to beginning each day’s operations.
- Follow all company and OSHA mandated safety policies and procedures.
- Learn to professionally communicate with customers, and homeowners.
- Learn to respond to incoming requests for line inspections or in conjunction with preventative maintenance schedules and determines the optimum method of conducting an inspection based upon field conditions.
- Learn to properly set-up and tear-down of traffic control in area where work is being performed.
- Learn to direct and supervise the activities of Techs and Equipment Operators assigned to assist with the inspection operation, including necessary preparation procedures.
- Perform physical labor associated with CCTV operations including removing and inspecting manholes.
- Locate tracker using specialized equipment and take GPS points.
- Learn to deploy televising equipment and conduct the inspection by directing the movement of the unit through the sewer system and adjusting the camera to diagnose problems.
- Learn to takes appropriate video recordings and photographs.
- Learn how to maintain televising equipment in good operating condition by adjusting, cleaning, lubricating, and performing minor repairs.
- Learn how to properly store the equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Learn what is needed to maintain a supply of replacement parts and supplies required to conduct inspections.
- Learn the established health and safety standards and procedures which are applicable to the work situation.
- Learn how to complete all required inspection reports.
- Learn to complete all administrative documents, including time & job sheets, disciplinary reports, etc., as required.
- Learn all CCTV Operator related duties as required.

Requirements:
§ Willing to learn the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment, and procedures utilized to conduct video inspections of all size sewer storm systems.
§ Willing to become NASSCO certified.
§ Excellent hand-to-eye coordination and computer skills
§ Possess and have the will to learn the occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work.

§ Willing to learn to recognize and react quickly and appropriately to unusual or threatening conditions in the work environment.
§ Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, customers, staff and subordinates and others who are involved in the pre and post inspection processes.
§ Operate autonomously and demonstrate problem solving abilities.
§ Willing to learn how to read and interpret sewer system maps, plans, technical specifications, project documentation.
§ Willing to learn how to complete applicable reports, records and related administrative tasks.
§ Ability to function effectively outside under a variety of weather conditions.
§ Willing to learn the equipment operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
§ Willing to travel and stay out of town at times up to two weeks.
§ Valid driver’s License with clean driving record
§ Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
§ Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
§ Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Working Conditions:
This position may require exposure to various weather conditions (i.e heat, rain, snow). Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend and twist at the waist, climb stairs, and walk without assistance.
Travel:
Travel for this position is expected to be less than 20% per year. Overnight/multiple night travel may be required, including out-of-state travel. Per diem will be paid in addition to regular or overtime pay for travel.
