Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, objectives, and policies and procedures, the Perioperative Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who extends and supports the Manager/Director. Responsibilities include collaboration across perioperative departments and physician offices to ensure an optimal patient experience; planning and strategizing department and patient scheduling to avoid admission, discharge, transfer, or procedure delays and cancelations. The Perioperative Supervisor fosters positive interdepartmental and physician relationships and assists with meeting patient satisfaction and associate engagement goals. Supervises all patient care services, including nursing, and ensures adequate staffing of nursing and support staff. Coordinates staff and resources to ensure cohesive, high quality patient care. Responsible for the efficient flow of the Pre-Op Clinic, Surgical Outpatient Unit, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The Perioperative Supervisor assists the Manager with daily staffing, time and attendance, personnel performance, corrective counseling, onboarding, and training of staff.

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Must hold a valid unrestricted RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current BLS is required. Must have PALS and ACLS or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.

Experience: Two years of recent surgery experience is preferred. Two years of previous leadership experience is preferred.

Skills: Must have strong communication skills and the ability to interact and build effective relationships with all constituents, including physicians and associates. Must also have a documented history of effective team building, creating a Culture of Safety, and leading positive change. Must have strong experience with technology, computers, and electronic medical records.
