Student Research Assistants-Dr. Liu (Spring) (INST) Job at University of North Dakota
Description
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired into this position.
Work as a research assistant in an on-going DoE research project. Multiple positions are available to both graduate students and undergraduate students. Training opportunities are available through working in this project. The RAs are expected to assist the main researchers in this projects to accomplish the construction of a number of software platforms and to run experiments using the constructed software platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing software solutions in the cloud environment to meet the requirements of various tasks included in the project. The duty is to configure the open-source software packages to produce a functional platform according to the requirements.
- Running experiments using the already-constructed software solutions to generate experiment results under various settings of experiments.
Requirements & Competencies
- Strong desire of proactive solving problems and overcoming technical difficulties.
- Good self-learning ability of finding solutions from publicly availble online resources.
- Good knowledge on advanced designs of modern software packages.
- Good hands-on ability of software debuging and system configuration.
- Good communication skills among co-workers in describing technical problems/solutions
- Good knowledge on cross programing by making a combined use of mutiple programming languages.
- Successful completion of criminal history records check
Work Location
- Primarily on-campus. Remote work is allowed with the agreement by the project supervisor.
Hours & Schedule
Starting compensation: $15/hour undergrad ,$17/hour graduate; Part-Time; Non-Exempt Non-Benefitted
- Hours per week:10-20 hours per week
