Workshops for Warriors (WFW) is currently seeking a Student Recruiting Specialist to join our team in San Diego, CA.

About the role:
The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for recruiting student prospects. This is an exciting position for a motivated individual who is passionate about improving the lives of our Nation’s Veterans and transitioning service members. The Recruiting Specialist spearheads the WFW enrollment/recruitment strategy, which includes, but is not limited to, creating recruiting programs and strategy, giving presentations and creating new contacts within the advanced manufacturing, military, veteran service organization, and vocational training sectors. This is a regular, full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible position. This position is designated nonexempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Full-Time, On-Site, Monday – Friday. Some evenings and weekends required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under direction of the Chief Academic Officer, work directly with military transition offices and Veteran Support Organizations to maximize program awareness.
- Conduct recruiting strategy development and execution to scale recruiting production with organizational growth.
- Advise prospective students, families, and the community on admissions requirements, the application process, and other related information.
- Attend and campaign at different venues, such as military base and station units, career fairs, military transition assistance courses, and Veteran centers to raise awareness about the program and its available services.
- Assist in establishing written outreach and recruiting materials including flyers and brochures, newsletters and educational fact sheets.
- Continue to grow referral base by conducting activities to communicate and network with potential partner organizations.
- Maintain internal database with all potential student and employer contacts and associated activities.
- Provide regular updates on recruiting, enrollment, and employment statistics.
- Coordinate and plan all logistics with internal staff and external support agencies for open houses and career fairs.
- Creates, conducts and staffs special exhibits at community events.
- Gathers and analyzes data; prepares descriptive, statistical, and evaluative data reports related to student enrollment.
- Provides guidance and advice on matters related to student recruitment.
- Coordinate with external hiring managers in the advanced manufacturing sector to educate them on program graduate capabilities and to understand their staffing needs, objectives and placement timelines.
- Utilizing multiple social media platforms, job boards, and recruiting tools, engage hiring managers, provide information presentations and tours, and proactively search for program graduate employment opportunities.
- Attends and participates in professional conferences and meetings concerned with recruitment.
Our ideal candidate:
Education and Experience
- 5+ years direct recruiting experience (military recruiting a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree - Human Resources Management focus or equivalent preferred but not required with adequate experience and understanding of Human Resources.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-starter.
- Excellent presention and story-telling skills.
- Persuasive with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases required.
- Proficient in sourcing techniques including LinkedIn, Google, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work with the public, alone and on a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to use personal vehicle for transportation (monthly mileage reimbursement provided).
- Goal and action oriented with ability and desire to achieve self and organizational improvement within a team environment.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well under pressure and with time constraints.
- Prior military service is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
