Huitt-Zollars’ Dallas, Texas office has a great opportunity for a
Structural (Bridge) Engineer. HZ is a leading full-service design firm providing innovative planning, engineering, architectural design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery to our clients in the public and private sector. HZ’s portfolio includes major bridge and transportation structures across the country including specialty analysis. Our portfolio includes prestressed, post-tensioned and conventionally reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structures. Responsibilities: Technical and managerial responsibilities are dependent on experience level and typically include:
- Apply prescribed methods and procedures in accordance with established criteria
- Prepare calculations in accordance with applicable design codes by following standard engineering practices and procedures within established guidelines
- Prepare detailed designs, plans and specifications for bridges and other transportation structures
- Manage all project aspects including scope of work development, fee development, and subconsultant management
- Assist business development and project pursuits
- Interact and collaborate with clients, owners and other highway disciplines
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Implement Huitt-Zollars’ Quality Management Plans for project deliverables
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas
- Ability to obtain license in other states
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience with relevant technology/software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, RISA, STADD
- Passionate about transportation and major highway design projects
- Ability to work / lead in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE)
- Proficient with TxDOT design practice and guidelines
