Riesbeck’s Food Markets, Inc. is seeking a full time Store Detective for stores located in Woodsfield, Cambridge, New Concord, Zanesville, Newcomerstown, and Sugarcreek, OH. Riesbeck’s serves customers in seven counties in Ohio and West Virginia and employs over 1,200 employees.

The Store Detective will conduct store detective work and assist the Loss Prevention Director in implementing loss prevention programs at store locations, protect and provide safety to store employees and customers by performing inspections, maintenance, and assisting employee and customers when needed. The Store Detective will perform routine security duties and maintain order. This role will report to the Director of Loss Prevention.

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:

1. Assist loss prevention director in conducting internal/external investigations.

2. Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service.

3. Direct and monitor in-store customer traffic.

4. Direct and monitor outside parking.

5. Address potential safety hazards.

6. Complete customer and employee accident reports when needed.

7. Maintain and monitor entrance/exit areas.

8. Represent the company in a court of law as needed.

9. Direct deliveries as needed.

10. Have sufficient vision (with correction) to read and to observe more distant objects.

11. Ability to do considerable walking in order to make rounds of facility.

12. Sufficient stamina to work outside in bad weather conditions when required.

13. Detect and apprehend shoplifters following corporate guidelines.

14. Maintain cooperative relationships with local and state police.

15. Maintain a professional level of confidentiality.

16. Observe all store rules and corporate policies.

17. Follow-up on returned-check collections.

18. Report and document unusual and suspicious behavior by employees, customers, and vendors.

19. Review security videos and alarms

20. Conduct safety, vendor, and security audits.

21. Complete OSHA Safety reports and recordsOther duties and assignments as directed by management.

Qualified individuals should possess the following required education, experience and skills:

1. Able to work flexible hours including weekends.

2. Possess reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean police record. Significant travel may be required. Reimbursement for mileage will be provided.
