Job purpose:*
The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) spends the most time of any staff in direct contact with the residents allowing the best opportunity to observe the residents. The STNA attitude reflects directly upon the resident’s sense of well-being. The STNA performs direct care duties providing care for a resident’s basic needs under the supervision of nursing personnel and promotes resident choice within a positive physical, social, and psychological environment.
Duties and responsibilities:

  • Assists in the admission or readmission of the resident.
  • Observes and reporting changes in the resident’s condition to the nurse.
  • Documents resident performance in Point Click Care or other areas as designated
  • Performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures such as ambulation, range of motion exercises, and positioning of the resident.
  • Provides assistance with resident activities of daily living including toileting defined by individual bowel and bladder functions, feeding, dressing, bathing and mobility.
  • Provides emotional support and social interaction.
  • Participates in effort to prevent accidents and infections by promoting and safe, clean environment
  • Maintains HIPPA standards and Resident’s Bill of Rights.
  • Attends training, competencies and in-service programs as required.
  • Promotes and supports resident choice
  • Assures resident safety
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to read and write and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be a State Registered Nurse Assistant in good standing with federal and state requirements.
  • Must be able to work every other weekend and specified holidays.

Physical requirements

  • Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination
  • Ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures
  • Must have the ability to communicate accurately in writing and verbally to others
  • Ability to hear and respond to pages

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
