Staten Island Immigrant Outreach Coordinator Job at Catholic Charities of Staten Island
Bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience in community outreach and networking required.
Outreach and Social Services Experience and Bi-lingual English/Spanish REQUIRED
Immigrant Outreach Coordinator will outreach to immigrants on the North Shore and work with parishes and community to help meet social services needs of the population.
1. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with pastors and other parish staff.
2. Meet and network with Community Based Organizations "CBOs" that serve immigrant communities. Foster relationships/collaboration between CCSI, other programs within the larger Catholic Charities network, non-profit CBO’s and parishes to support the immigrant community.
3. Develop a comprehensive understanding of benefits and resources available to immigrants in order to develop multi-platform bi-lingual ways of disbursing accurate and timely information.
4. Outreach and engage immigrant populations in order to understand and assess ongoing needs including: housing, utilities, legal services, employment, child care services, education, food security, and other life necessities.
5. Recommend & develop programming within CCSI to address needs and gaps in services.
6. Attend and participate in agency meetings, community/coalition meetings, trainings, outreach events, and other related activities.
7. Work collaboratively with other CCSI departments, particularly Case Management and the Emergency Food Services department to share information about services, share findings regarding Staten Island emergency food needs (such as gaps in service & underserved areas) and help facilitate areas of expansion for CCSI programming.
Outreach and engage immigrant populations to assess housing, utilities, legal services, employment, child care services, education, food security and other life necessities.
Full time position, generally Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Periodically expected to work evenings and weekends to attend and participate in work-related events and activities.
Travel throughout North Shore of Staten Island. Work with the public,
Carry a laptop and bag of necessary items to offsite work locations.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with parishes and knowledge of Catholic Social teaching.

Pay: $63,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
