OVERVIEW:* Performs monthly General Ledger closing, prepares monthly journal entries, prepares monthly financial statements, and assists with annual budget preparation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*

  • Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and approvals
  • Prepare weekly provider payments
  • Prepares assigned general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Other reconciliations as requested
  • Assists with filing of regulatory monthly, quarterly and annual reports to include, but not limited to MMCOR, NAIC, VBPTR, MLR, and Minimum Wage
  • Responsible for monthly NYSDOH premium reconciliation to deposits received
  • Assists with reviewing and updating iCircle policies and procedures.
  • Maintains general ledger report specifications and chart of account structure consistent with legal, regulatory and reporting needs of the Agency
  • Prepares daily deposits and collection of cash receipts
  • Completes IRS Form 1099 for iCircle vendors
  • Assist with of internal and external audits
  • Assists with preparation of iCircle budgets and forecasts
  • Process daily bank transactions
  • Sends positive pay files to bank
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • All duties are to be performed timely and accurately

ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:*

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of four years related accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in Healthcare industry preferred
  • Proficient in excel and using computerized general ledgers
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Work effectively within and outside the department to communicate and resolve issues and streamline existing processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines
  • Protects patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must meet applicable Vehicle Operator Requirements
