Position Summary
The Sr. Institutional Sales Officer, based in TCW’s New York office, will be responsible for attracting new assets from institutional investors to the various TCW strategies (fixed income, equities, alternatives and emerging markets). Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating prospects/clients/consultants, initiating and following up on new business opportunities, leading new business meetings, and closing sales to institutional clients in the assigned territory. This position will also maintain ongoing, strategic relationships with existing institutional clients/consultants.
Essential Duties
- Secure new business directly from institutional client base (e.g. public funds, corporations, foundations/endowments, insurance companies and state and local municipalities) and/or through consultant/third party relationships as directed.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with institutional clients and prospects.
- Increase assets, develop prospects, retain clients, and support efforts to build recognition of TCW products.
- Frequent business travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 5 years industry experience with a minimum of 3 years sales experience
- Proven track record in asset management institutional business development
- Exposure to, and an in depth understanding of, a wide range of asset classes, financial instruments, strategies and products
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong strategic relationships with client base

- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong initiative and self-starter
- Ability to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- CFA or MBA preferred
Estimated Compensation:
Base Salary: $180k - $200k
Other Compensation: Commission + discretionary bonus eligible
