Wholesale fuel distribution is our key focus at Sunoco LP. We distribute more than 10 fuel brands to approximately 9,200 convenience stores across the United States. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise for ongoing and developmental safety programs supporting the Marketing organization, primarily Transportation.
Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting and developing training programs, including organizing existing Transportation driver trainer’s into one cohesive group
- Coordinating and conducting driver safety assessments
- Work on or with safety committees
- Assist with investigations of incidents
- Conduct SMITH defensive driving courses
- Train new hire transport drivers
- Procedure development and program management
- Perform Industrial Hygiene monitoring and supporting staff safety specialist with related safety and health activities
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Safety Discipline or four years equivalent career safety experience.
- 2-5 years of experience.
- Familiarity with safety management processes, programs and knowledge of applicable DOT regulations is required.
- Ability to satisfy simultaneous demands and deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written and coaching communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and technical background.
- Ability to act independently.
- Possess the ability to apply safety principals to the identification and resolution of health and safety issues.
- A valid CDL (Class A-Tank-HazMat) driver's license and good driving record required, and must be able to travel.
Preferred Skills or Experience:
- Career experience in Transportation safety related activities preferred.
- Career experience in driving DOT type vehicles, defensive driver instructor certified, adult coaching skills and petroleum cargo tank knowledge is also preferred.
Special Characteristics/Job Requirements:
- Good coaching, speaking and presenting skills.
- Computer skills a plus.
