You will have the opportunity to:

• Build a routine within each of your regularly scheduled small group classes
• Create an engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning, encourages student interest, and maintains standards of behavior
• Tailor a program of study to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of your students, using District-approved curriculum and special education teaching methods
• Integrate modern resources into lesson design through Google Classroom and a one-to-one student technology ratio, to create engaging learning experiences
• Determine goals, directions, and objectives, and prepare IEP goals and IEPC forms
• Conduct observations and assessments, and monitor student growth across all classes
• Guide learning by establishing objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and adjust instruction accordingly to maximize student learning
• Collaborate with colleagues in focused learning teams, and coordinate with fellow teachers to support student needs
• Maintain accurate and complete records of progress as required by law and district policy
• Communicate regularly with students and parents

A qualified candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree
• Michigan teaching certification with endorsements in relevant subject areas:
• Special Education
