SoWa Power Station- Beverage Operations Manager Job at GTI Properties
Company Overview
SoWa Boston is comprised of GTI Properties, SoWa Art + Design District, and the SoWa Power Station. GTI Properties owns hundreds of commercial and residential properties throughout the South End and Back Bay, which includes the artist studios, galleries, retail shops, and design showrooms along Thayer St. Recently revitalized, the historic SoWa Power Station is now one of Boston’s premier events venues, hosting touring arts exhibitions, conferences, galas, and weddings. The neighborhood is activated regularly with original events and programming, including: SoWa Open Market, Winter Festival, and First Fridays, among others.
SoWa Power Station
The SoWa Power Station is an iconic masterpiece of late-industrial glamor. Built in 1891 as the world’s largest power generation plant, it produced enough electricity to run the West End Street Railway. The century-old property’s structural elements have since been rescued and restored, transforming it into a blank canvas for community, celebration, and innovation.
The Main Floor is a spectacular and versatile open concept space which allows event planners and clients the freedom to transform the venue to their unique vision. With 25,000 square feet, the space can host up to 1,500 guests for events. The room is ideal for conferences, galas, art installations, trade shows, performances and weddings. This room also hosts our Annual SoWa Winter Festival and art installations for up to 7 months of the year.
Our second floor Mezzanine features two spaces connected by a stunning rotunda - a relic of the 252 foot tall chimney that used to stand on the spot. With almost 4,000 square feet, this space can accommodate close to 300 for a reception. A built-in bar, fourteen-foot ceilings with exposed beams and glamorous light fixtures create an intimate and chic location for private dinner parties, social and work receptions, all-day meetings, and retreats.
