Solutions Architect (Biotech) Job at Scismic

Scismic is supporting the growth of a biotech technology company!

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join the team - the hub of the wheel that guides/enables the spokes (Application Engineers and Field Application Scientists) to be effective.

Your main focus will be architecting and standardizing methods and integration points that the AE/SAS utilize as they integrate the company's software with external hardware and software and develop customer-specific plug-ins. You will play a critical role for issue diagnostics, root-cause isolation, and determining optimal resolution strategies that ensure AE/FAS effectiveness, system sustainability, and customer satisfaction/retention.

Other fun things you will get to do:

  • Collaborate with Application Engineers and Field Application Scientists to translate customer requirements into functional product configurations
  • Architect optimal methods for product integrations with lab equipment and other devices and third-party software
  • Architect and develop infrastructure that accelerates deployment timelines -such as utilities that are utilized by AEs to create new product plug-ins (python and javascript) to meet customer requirements and helping improve our company's standard content library
  • Architect and Design software deployment configurations for both on-premise and cloud-based deployments
  • Ensure embedded diagnostics to enable faster issue resolution and long-term sustainability
  • Troubleshoot issues with Application Engineers to resolve customer problems

What will make you a good fit:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as computer science or software engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in system architecture, design, and implementation as an Architect
  • You have a vast array of technical skills that include experience with much of the technologies listed below
  • You are extremely hands on, and VERY adept at troubleshooting code-level issues for customers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

What will make you stand out:

  • Familiarity with life sciences concepts, tools and applications (Molecular Biology, genomics, etc.) and experience in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, or biotechnology industries
  • A background in either computational or wet-lab sciences with a focus on regulated laboratory environments
  • Experience with computational modeling of real-world processes
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments

  • Version control system: Git (strong knowledge)
  • Build Tools: Python dist-utils, pip, make, cmake, Ansible
  • API Management: OpenAPI
  • Cloud: Amazon Cloud, Azure
  • Web: HTML, JavaScript, XML, Vue
  • Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Others: Code Quality : Python, Sonar, Continuous Integration and Deployment : Jenkins, AWS Cloud Formation : Cloud Formation Template
