About this Opportunity
We’re looking for a Social Media Strategist and Community Management Specialist to develop and execute social media strategies within our family of global retail brands: Herman Miller, Knoll, Design Within Reach, HAY, and Muuto. You will contribute to organic social content strategies that generate high levels of engagement and cultivate engagement with MillerKnoll social communities via community management. In collaboration with cross-functional teammates, you will develop an intimate understanding of our social audiences across platforms and deepen relationships with those communities via listening, engaging, and reporting in support of overall brand goals. You will also contribute to influencer strategies and relationship management. Our Global Social Media team drives brand awareness, consideration, demand, and loyalty across Herman Miller’s family of brands. You will shape a social media strategy to meet these goals and work cross-functionally with internal and external partners to bring the strategy to life. This opportunity can be located in our Stamford, CT offices or Remote.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day work will involve:
Listening to and Engaging Communities

Identify trends in social media and culture to determine and inform relevant opportunities for the brand.

Initiate community listening campaigns and develop insights and recommendations to increase brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty

Develop new and improve existing keyword lists to pro-actively listen to and support our social communities.

Develop guidelines on community engagement, monitor and respond to comments, identify high-value segments.

Build positive relationships with consumers, influencers, and industry professionals through thoughtful social interactions or initiatives such as giveaways.
Content Creation, Publishing, Influencer Management

Develop and implement an insights-led multi-platform social strategy with an up-to-date understanding of social “best practices," ensuring alignment with broader marketing priorities, business goals, voice, and brand. Platforms may include Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and more.

Partner with creative teams to develop compelling content through photo and video shoots, contribute to editorial direction and storytelling, and source on-brand user-generated content.

Support cross-functional teams with concepting, creating, and executing multi-platform campaigns.

Develop influencer strategies and support outreach, relationship management, and reporting.

Support live event engagement and reporting

Ensure all published content is consistent with brand social guidelines and standards.

Assist with maintenance and optimization of our social media management tools.
Reporting and Optimizing

Utilize tools like Google Analytics, native platform insights, and social media management tools such as Sprinklr, Curalate, and CreatorIQ to generate insights, learnings, and recommendations that will increase customer lifetime value.

Generate and present recommendations that improve channel, content, and community engagement performance.
You might be just who we're looking for if you have:

A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.

Two to four years of social media management for brands; ideally within a complex, fast-paced corporate environment.

Three years of hands-on experience using enterprise level social media management tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, or a similar tool. Sprinklr experience a plus.

The ability to interpret social media data and form recommendations to improve performance.

A deep knowledge of trends in social media technology and consumer behaviors as well best practices for brands.

Curiosity in what’s trending on social media and why people are talking about it.

Personal interest in interior design, architecture, fashion, or a related area is a plus.

Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to thoughtfully engage with a diverse array of people and perspectives.

Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

An eye for details like grammar, punctuation, and tone.

The ability to be self-motivated and a proactive problem-solver.
