JOB OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the safe and timely loading unloading of dental shipping packages. Identifies and reports damaged freight, and enters data into computer system regarding amounts of products that were received and signed for.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unloads merchandise safely and timely from trucks using manual equipment.
- Verifies paperwork regarding accuracy of unit counts as well as proper destination.
- Visually identifies any damaged freight and reports appropriately in a timely manner.
- Ensures that the correct amount of product is received and signed for.
- Enters data into the computer system as an initial step to the receiving process and assists in the receiving of bulk freight.
- Confirm, prepare customer property for shipment per established procedures. Oversee transfer of packages to approved carrier for transportation
- Work with Microsoft Office
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a relevant position desired
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- High School degree or equivalent required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions
- Basic mechanical skills desired
- Basic math and logic skills required
- Basic computer skills and software use (email, document prep, and spreadsheets) desired
TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Travel – typically not required
- Position typically works on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a warehouse environment.
- The position requires an above average amount of physical activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch, climb stairs and may be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
