The George E. Booth Co., Inc is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time Service Technician open to candidates in and surrounding Chicago, IL.
The George E. Booth Co., Inc. is a major distributor of process instrumentation products and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee founded in 1963.
The ideal candidate will have abilities to repair and troubleshoot instrumentation equipment in a local territory and be willing to travel locally, with occasional overnight stays and on-call duty. A clean driving record required. This role comes with a competitive compensation plan and paid overtime as well as excellent benefits. Equipment is new, state-of-the-art. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities for the Service Technician
- Service Technician will provide preventative maintenance and repair of analytical instrumentation systems on customer sites
- Utilize company guidelines and SOP’s to perform onsite start-up, advanced repair and calibration and verification of instrumentation
- Interact with and train customer/dealer technicians
- Evaluate warranty claims and assist with documentation, report of labor, work orders and inspections by use of mobile or remote computer workstation
- Will need technical competency with control systems, instruments, valving, etc.
- Maintain relationships and open lines of communication with customers and co-workers
- Ability to self-start and negotiate sales of product lines in designated service territory
Requirements for the Service Technician
- Must be willing to travel locally with occasional overnights and have a clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years' experience in troubleshooting and equipment repairs including electrical, flow, level, pressure, temperature and all facets of analytical instrumentation and applications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Associate degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
