As a Senior System Administrator at CTI, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our company's high-tech software and systems engineering projects in the defense and space industry. You will be working with a team of experts in real-time, decision support, and electronic warfare systems, sensor integration, and information management. CTI is dedicated to providing top-quality engineering, system development, and support for our military and security applications to include: electronic warfare and training & simulation. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who is passionate about technology and has a strong desire to work in an innovative and challenging environment.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and other hardware and software infrastructure
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify solutions
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the system from unauthorized access and cyber threats
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new software and hardware solutions
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, policies, and procedures, documents, and monitor the company’s cyber security program implementation plan
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support

This position is in Camp Smith Hawaii.

Requirements


Necessary skills and experience

  • Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance, and must be SCI eligible- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearances
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in system administration, system engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with Linux/Unix system administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

Beneficial skills and experience

  • Experience with simple scripts such as, Powershell or Bash
  • Experience with software development Information Technology infrastructure tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef), setup and management
  • Experience administering server-side technology such as: PHP, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and security technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Joint IO Range, Defense Research and Engineering Network, and other similar environments
  • Security+, GSLC, GSEC, or other DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification in the Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II categories
  • Experience with open source platforms such as, Kubernetes, Red Hat 7&8 and/or Windows 10, ACAS, Rancher, Grafana and Cloud Security Gateway
  • Knowledge of network infrastructures in a DOD environment in Hawaii
