Job Summary
As a Senior PCB Designer, you will be part of the hardware engineering support team with various assignments to project teams for development of complex PCB design solutions that meet the challenges of a tactical computing environment. Senior PCB Designers are involved with the design, fabrication, and modification PCB/CCA designs and associated component library maintenance. Evaluates and recommends design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigates solutions to product or process problems.Job Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical schematics and develop complex PCBs designs in support of engineering with the use of Cadence Allegro and other in-house CAD/CAM tools while adhering to industry standards, contract requirements, and contract manufacture capabilities.
• Design of advanced multilayer PCB Designs and layout with Cadence Allegro PCB Editor V17.x utilizing Constraint Manager to ensure PCB designs meet performance requirements.
• Ensure generation of detailed and accurate documentation for complex printed circuit boards conforming to applicable IPC and DRS standards.
• Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches.
• Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments
• Perform initial and ongoing design reviews
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop an accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various types of internal projects
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
• Resolve PCB Design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors
• Participate and provide input into process improvement, PCB and DFM checklists and guidelines

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates of Science degree w/ 6+ years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced experience using Cadence OrCAD Capture CIS/CIP, Allegro PCB Editor required.
• Professional work experience in defense industry/DoD a plus.
• Develop PCBs from electrical schematics
• Experience with PCB development of high current, high-speed interface, multi-layer, complex designs.
• Knowledge of Intel x86 based designs, DC-DC power converters, and high-speed interconnects such as PCIE, Gb Ethernet, DDR3/DDR4 Memory bus, USB 2, USB 3, LVDS/DisplayPort/HDMI, etc. a plus.
• Experience with working with PCB vendors and PCB materials
• Current working experience with Valor is preferred
• Knowledge of Empower or similar PLM release systems
• Programming experience in scripting, Allegro Skill, AWK, Perl or other programming languages is preferred
• CID, CID+ preferred but not required
• Electronic packaging experience
• Familiarity with Military and Industrial specifications
